Online courses seemed like something

Online courses seemed like something that people buy and never end for me until I set a goal for myself to do only one before purchasing another one. I found one of the cheapest programming classes at udemt, and the format of it made sticking to it much easier than I expected it would be. Each lecture had practical tasks, which means I wasn't just watching the videos but doing some work along the way. In addition to the programming course, I started taking web development courses and even courses related to hobbies like free online drawing lessons. One of the courses that I loved unexpectedly was Aesprite, which opened the world of pixel art and basic game assets for me. It showed me that not all learning has to be related to your career, but hobbies can also be improved. Tracking my results every week motivated me to keep going. Now I have a few projects that I didn't even dream about making a year ago. For everyone who wants to learn something new, here is what I would say to them: choose one course and try to stick to it.

The switch to a new career

The switch to a new career has exposed me to a lot of information in a very short time period. I have spent a number of days researching various learning systems to make a decision about which one to use. What helped me choose Udemy was reading reviews about programmers and developers who referred to Cory Althoff and his simple-to-understand programming methodology. As a result, I have decided to take several courses related to web development, and to do at least one module per day. Of course, there were some challenges in the process, but listening to lectures once again and following the coding helped me regain my confidence. During the weekends, I decided to change my activity to something completely different, and started to attend classes on Aesprite to create my own pixel art because it relaxed me after a long day of coding. In addition, I observed that there are many people who attended WGU Udemy and gave various advice on how to study more efficiently and which courses to take, thus making the choice of good instructors simpler.

I told myself

Last year, I told myself that "I'll learn it someday" was not going to cut it anymore and that it is necessary to act rather than waiting. So, I decided to dedicate 30 minutes each evening to studying. I began by taking courses in web development since I had no idea how web pages function. The courses were very simple, and besides the lectures themselves, there were projects which kept me interested in what I was doing. When looking for new skills, I discovered multiple free drawing courses that improved my drawing abilities and helped move on to paid courses. At some point, I found the topic of pixel art interesting, and I learned the basics of using the Aesprite program, which turned out to be pretty amusing. I even recalled how at first I looked for something called ude instead of Udemy because I could not remember the website's name. Now I am glad that I have been persistent, as little progress every day brought results and allowed me to try new technologies and skills.

WGU Udemy partnerships program f

I never planned on spending any money on yet another online education website as previous experience had made me feel unmotivated when it came to using those services. However, after being recommended Udemy by one of my friends and hearing that many students who participated in the WGU Udemy partnerships program found it quite beneficial in terms of additional resources, I decided to give it a try, taking advantage of its discount. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations. However, my first course was on programming and, as the instructor mentioned, some ideas seemed familiar to the strategies used by Cory Althoff when teaching people how to program in a beginner-friendly way. This made me believe that I might actually understand something. The main advantage of Udemy was the possibility to watch lectures several times, pausing when needed. Moreover, after finishing the course on programming, I learned a lot of interesting things by exploring Aesprite tutorial on Udemy. It was pleasant to combine technical skills with a bit of artistry. In general, while there were some issues in terms of course quality, reading reviews beforehand was very helpful.

I finally decided that it was high time

Several months ago, I finally decided that it was high time I learned something new rather than spent countless hours browsing through some random videos. So I tried udemt (which is how I typed at first, by accident! ) and ended up on Udemy. I was amazed not only with the huge amount of courses but also by their usefulness and practicality. After choosing one of the web development courses, I managed to develop my first responsive website in just several weeks. The lecturer managed to explain all those complicated things in a very simple way. Then I got interested in digital art, where I discovered a whole bunch of courses for free online drawing, which helped me gain enough confidence in order to buy an advanced course. Also, I came across a wonderful introduction tutorial on Aesprite, which I was eager to learn for pixel art creation. I would definitely recommend everyone to start learning online earlier. The ability to study after work and review lessons again and again if necessary has changed everything. Each person's experience will be unique, but in my case, it proved to be the best investment ever.

I was dissatisfied with the quality

I was dissatisfied with the quality and diversity of the courses on offer and attempted to file a refund claim however, customer service fought me every step of the way. This forced my hand and I just got of off of the phone with my bank after filing a transaction despite so be extremely careful about giving them any money and check that the course that your looking for is on offer.

Common Questions

1. Is Udemy still a good place to learn new skills in 2026?

Udemy offers one of the best options for skill-based courses at an inexpensive price. There are over 130,000+ courses to choose from in categories including; design, coding, or business, etc. With flexible learning schedule options and self-paced class materials, you can learn at your own pace regardless what your schedule may look like.

2. Are the courses on Udemy either free or paid?

The answer is both. While you will find a variety of different course choices of both, you can also find a variety of high quality course options for very little (especially during big sales). Udemy also has a selection of free course offerings ideal for anyone interested in developing new skills without spending money.

3. How much value to employers place on Udemy's certificate of completion?

Udemy's certificate of completion may add another level of value to your job search; at the least when included alongside the additional skills you received from taking the course. While the completion certificate does not replace traditional/or formal education (degree), it would demonstrate your enthusiasm for learning and prove to an employer that you have gained applicable knowledge in real-world situations.
