One of the private universities in the United States of America is Maharishi International University (MIU) which also is called Maharishi University. It was established in 1971 and has been using its own educational model which combines conventional education with development of each student.
At the university students can obtain degrees in such fields as computer science, business, accounting, education, sustainable living and the arts. At MIU the unique educational model is used when there is not only preparation of future specialists but also there is personal development of students.
Students at the university usually have an opportunity to practice Transcendental Meditation which is aimed at relaxation and focus of mind. There are undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs offered by the university including those career-related in IT or other professions. Such a unique combination of conventional education, consciousness-based education and TM meditation makes the university different from traditional universities.
Maharishi University gives a possibility for students who want to combine career preparation and personal development.

institution merges its education program
Recently, I discovered Maharishi International University when searching for unique universities. The thing that attracted my attention regarding MIU is the way this institution merges its education program with Transcendental Meditation practice. I believe that this type of program could be interesting to students interested not only in studying but also in self-development and maintaining balance in life. It appears that Maharishi University managed to create an educational program which helps students not only to develop academically but also to get acquainted with TM meditation. While I am still learning about the university, I must say that I found its overall concept quite intriguing.

Unique Approach to Education and Meditation
What intrigued me about Maharishi International University was the fact that its approach to education appears to move beyond just conventional teaching in the classroom. This is a university that integrates Transcendental Meditation into the student’s lifestyle, which I have not encountered before as such a feature of other universities. People have varied views regarding meditation, and I can see the reason why some students may enjoy the opportunity to cultivate their own TM meditation practice along with their studies. The idea of creating a conducive atmosphere for learning seems to be important in Maharishi University. For those studying MIU, I would recommend paying attention not only to courses but also to other aspects of the university.

Combining Education and Transcendental Meditation
My first introduction to Maharishi International University was via an educational debate about some alternative methods of studying at higher education institutions, which definitely sparked my curiosity. There is an interesting concept used at this university, combining studies and Transcendental Meditation. If you are into mindfulness or want to try something different than the usual schedule, this can be an interesting aspect of this university. Another thing I like about Maharishi University is that it focuses not only on academic success but also on the personal development of its students. Although the choice of the university is your personal decision and it should be well-thought-out, you should consider the program, the cost, and the experience of the university.

Unique Education System and Meditation
MIU appealed to me because it offered a unique way of education that is not seen in any other institution. Transcendental Meditation was an important component of the education system used at MIU. I believed that students had various strategies for dealing with academic stress, and a TM meditation might be an effective part of the routine of some of the students. MIU also had numerous academic programs to offer; therefore, one could study something else apart from learning about TM meditation. Any student willing to study at MIU should take their time in studying the program and the university experience in general.

Innovative Approach to Education and Meditation
Initially, I came to know of Maharishi International University through a conversation about unconventional methods of getting education. I have found this university quite intriguing as well. In fact, this university offers an innovative approach wherein students get to learn in combination with Transcendental Meditation sessions. For those who want to take up something new other than studying and for people interested in mind-fullness practice, this university is surely going to appeal to them. I find it nice that Maharishi University focuses not only on academic development but also on personal one. Naturally, selection of a university depends on individual preference; hence it is suggested that students do a research on the program, cost, and campus life before finalizing their choice.
