"Duolingo, which is one of the best resources available for people to learn languages, started out in 2011 and was co-founded by Luis von Ahn and Severin Hacker with an intention of making accessible to all, free, pleasurable ways to learn different languages.
Duolingo provides various interactive lessons for various languages including Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and English using game-like tasks (such as short quizzes and speaking activities) which are designed to provide motivation for continued use of the program.
